Do You Feel Inadequate?

How much of ourselves gets in the way of us fulfilling our full calling or potential?  It’s not just about selfishness either.  A lot of it, I believe, comes from the feeling of inadequacy.  God doesn’t want us to feel inadequate or unable to do what he sets before us to do.  2 Corinthians 9:8 says, And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.  God has given us everything that we need to do what he has called us to do.  So, by feeling inadequate, is it really a sign of lack of faith?  Or our lack of trusting that God knows what he’s doing?
I have to admit that I struggle with this.  What I am learning is that we have to choose to stand on what God’s truth says.  Mentally we know that, but it’s a whole different story to know it with our heart.  Walking in His truth puts us on very solid ground.  It’s when we interject our own doubts and fears that things get complicated.  A scripture that I have used when I start to feel down on myself about my weaknesses and my faults is 2 Corinthians 12:9.  It says, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  Knowing that when our weaknesses show through, that is when God is able to shine.  It is through this that people can see the work that He is doing in our lives.  When we walk around acting as though we have it all together and everything is fine, we are actually not allowing God’s glory to shine through us.  It also is a stopper for fulfilling what He is wanting to do in and through us.  So, learn to let go and let God.  Quit trying to control everything in your life and let Him do what it is he is wanting to do through you.  The freedom and joy that comes from that is amazing.=)  Be blessed!
