When do you seek God? Everyday or just when things are getting tough and you don’t know what else to do? We are to seek Him and His guidance in ALL things. Not just some things, but ALL things. Now, I’m not saying going overboard and going extreme to where you’re asking Him if you can get a drink or go to the bathroom, etc. Seek him when it comes to decisions that you are having to make. When you are plotting out the course of your day. When you are setting about your tasks for yourself.
Proverbs 4:11 says, I guide you in the ways of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.
Proverbs 11:14 says, For lack of guidance a nation falls but many advisers make victory sure.
Proverbs 20:18a says, Make plans by seeking advice.
We are to seek His counsel. I think that we have gotten away from part of this practice. I feel like we seek him (in some things) but we fail in not waiting…for His answer. Sometimes, though, He may not give you an answer. Sometimes He doesn’t give an answer for a variety of reasons. He may want you to take a step of faith. To step into the unknown. Are you willing to do that? All the projections, schedules and plans in the world will never allow you to grown deeper in your walk if you are meant to step out in faith. But always seek his counsel first.
We live in a society of fast pace. We’ve created this. The whole “I gotta have it NOW!” mentality. With creating this fast pace, we are not leaving anytime to allow God to move. I also think that we have gotten so fast paced that we are now confusing God’s answers for our wants. I have really been trying to hone in on seeking His voice. And to do that we have to create the time & quiet needed. If you are not willing to wait on God’s counsel, then who are you really serving? We can have all the plans that we want, but if they are not in line with God’s plans then they are useless. You may be weird and you may freak some people out if you tell them, “I need to pray about this and I will get back to you.” And if you do, so what. Who will be in right standing? God is our ultimate Authority. =) Be Blessed!
