What normally is your gut reaction to situations? “A wise woman does not dream of what ‘could have been.’ She does not see herself as ‘God’s gift to men;’ therefore, she is joyful and content in her present circumstances.” – Created To Be His Help Meet. We have 40,000 thoughts a day. Did you know that? I never did. Those thoughts dwell in your heart. Proverbs 23:7a says, So as he thinks in his heart, so is he. When pressure comes in and you are pushed beyond your “front” thinking, the reservoir of your heart springs forth. Now, the real question is, what is your reservoir filled with? When we are constantly thinking about how we wished we had this or that or the “if only’s”, we show that we aren’t content. When we are constantly thinking negative thoughts about ourselves, our marriage, our kids, our lives (the list goes on and on), our actions and reactions become controlled by our misguided thoughts. We are what we think. God is very specific in how we should think. We should “THINK THE TRUTH!” Satan LOVES to mess with our heads. By allowing the negative, discontented thinking, we are allowing Satan control of our minds. That is not what Christ wants. Through upward thinking we will find freedom from the constant mental torment that comes from discontent thinking. To change our thought patterns is not just a matter of forcefully making ourselves do it. We have to fill ourselves with God’s truth. When we fill ourselves with what God says instead of what the world says, we create a wellspring of the Godly reactions and responses that we should have. How are your reactions normally? God wants us to have pure, positive and encouraging thoughts. That is one way of shining the light He has put in us. =) Be Blessed!
